Yes, still getting the same error.
You don’t need to create folders in FTP to run the NextGEN Gallery. When you upload images it does it for you.
In other words, when you go into the Gallery plugin and add an Album/Gallery, the plugin will automatically create folders inside wp-content and upload them there.
Right, but the problem is it’s not doing that. In WordPress, I can try to create a new gallery, but all I get is:
Directory is not writeable !

I’m getting this error even though everything is writable.

Hello friends,
I had the same problem, and solved when I changed the “Gallery Path” under “options” menu of plugin from “/” to “/wp-content/gallery/”
Do the test and tell if it worked.
