A few weeks ago I changed my website’s domain name, and I updated the wp-admin general settings by changing the site title and WordPress and Site URLs to the new domain name. However, the old Site Title still appears in the web browser tab when I pull up my website. I don’t know why it’s not updating. I cleared the cache on all my browsers, but the old title still comes up in the browser tab.
My url is http://www.wanderingthebluemarble. The old site was “the woda blog.”
I’m wondering if it has something to do with my .htaccess file. But am not sure. This is what appears in my .htaccess file for my primary domain:
    # Use PHP5 as default
    AddHandler application/x-httpd-php5 .php

    # BEGIN WordPress

    # END WordPress

    Any thoughts? Thanks.

Yes. I changed the home and site URLs in wp-admin general setting.

Thanks, I’ve seen both of those documents before and changed my urls in wp-admin general settings. But the old site title and tagline still appear on the browser tab. My site comes up just fine, and there are no problems with navigation. It’s just that the site title and tag line are not updating. I’m looking for anyone who might know why.

go to dashboard – general settings. there two text boxes. one is Site title and another is Tagline. Try to change the content from there or check once the theme’s header.php file

Thanks, as i’ve stated three previous times, I changed the site titles and urls in the WP general settings. My post is about why the site title and tagline didn’t not update even though I changed the information under the general settings.

Try deactivating your plugins and changing to the default theme to see if you can change it there.

Thanks to all who responded. I figured it out. I never thought to check my Thesis Theme settings, but that was where the problem was. Thesis has an SEO optimization section, and that’s where my old blog name was hanging out.
