SELECT function with required not work properly

Hello,
I have create a fully functional contact us page with the plugin, but when the fields SELECT and i add some 2 or 3 option even if i use Required function it seems to let the users to submit the form as if they have choose the first option of the SELECT even if i use the first option “- Select -” and i removed the default selected option.
I would be grateful if you can help me
