• hi

i uploaded images to my blog as recently as 30 days ago
but now i upload to my media library and i get an error message
    “Unable to create directory” …

i checked the path and it is the default .. i haven’t been able to
get to the permissions to see / make sure they are at “777”

could they be the only reasons, or is my “older” version part of the problem too ?

    thanks !

  • You need to try changing the permissions on the wp-content directory to 766. If you still have problems, try 767, 775 or 777. Once your uploads are working, change the permissions on wp-content back to 755 again and check that everything still works OK.

    hi esmi

well, changing the permissions in the directory and changing them back worked for a few weeks, but now my media won’t upload again i get this:

“The uploaded file could not be moved to /var/www/vhosts … wp-content/uploads/2013/04 “

do i need to reset my permissions ever couple of weeks to avoid my media not being able to be uploaded to my blog, or is this a different situation altogether ?

    thanks !
