• I’m using WP 1.5.

I could have sworn that until recently I and other registered users of my group blog were able to edit their own comments via a little lowercase e hotlinked to the edit page. Now it’s gone. Moreover, when I try to edit my own comments, I’m told I don’t have the right — but I’m at level 9! Could I have thrown a switch somehow to lock me out in this way?

  • What happens when you login as the Level 10 user?

Thanks for responding, MichaelH. In answer to your question, when I log in at the 10th level I do see the little “e” beside everyone’s comments. But shouldn’t I, at level 9, be able to see an “e” for 8’s and below, etc.? What I’d really like, of course, is for people to be able to edit their own comments.

This is how it worked for me on a 1.5.2 blog. It kind of makes sense 😉

Two users: level8 and level8a. Level8 writes the post. Level8a leaves a comment. Only level8 can edit comments for that post.

Of course level9 or level10 could edit or delete comments or posts from level8!
