• I’m planning a fresh install of WordPress 2.0.1. So I deleted the tables and deleted all the files. But, I can’t get rid of the ‘cache’ folder in the ‘wp-content’ folder!

    Is there something I can do (without having to contact my hosting service to help me out) to delete this folder e.g. setting the properties differently?

    I tried uploading all the wordpress files and re-use the ‘wp-content’ folder with the old ‘cache’ folder in it, but this really messes up my new WordPress installation too…

    Can somebody please help me out? =__=;;

  • Use the FTP software and change the permissions to Read, Write, Execute for ALL groups..Owner, Group, World and then you can delete the directory.

    Regards

    If that is possible at all.
    With my host, att directorieas any files created by WordPress, or any PHP script have the web server user as owner, i.e. owner:nobody.
    In that case you cannot change the permissions from you user account, and have to ask your host to change the owner to be your user account. After that you can do whatever you want with such files and directories.

    Are using CPanel? Try deleting the folder using the CPanel File Manager.
