Customize featured image (twenty twelve)

    Not sure if its theme specific, but is there a way to customize the featured image?
    If you take a look at my site:
    http://cubescene.com/

    The featured image appears above my post, and it is also way to big.
    I need to use featured image instead of thumbnails because my portfolio plugin depends on it.

    Any help greatly appreciated.
