I followed the instructions to create a static page. I published it and can view it while logged into WP. Once I log out, however, I can no longer view it. It’s listed in pages, so I don’t know what I did wrong since it’s pretty cut and dry.

I’ve seen other posts asking the same question, but don’t seem to find an answer that works for me.

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

  • Do you have any caching enabled on your site or server? Make sure to also clear your browser cache or try another browser. Posting a link to your site might also help people help you :).

Thanks for responding WPyogi. I checked my site and see that all the recommended options for caching are checked. I also cleared the browser cache on both Foxfire and Explorer…that didn’t make a difference.

    My site is katydidcards.com

I just can’t imagine what I did wrong as I can see it when I’m logged in and have checked and rechecked and find nothing suspicious.

It looks like you do have caching on – which is very likely why changes are not showing up :). Try turning it off and clearing the cache. You should not have it on when you are making changes to your site.

Okay, I’ll try that and see what happens. Fingers crossed!

I turned caching off and deleted the cache and still unable to see the static page unless I’m logged into WP. I’ve gone through all the posts regarding this to see if I did anything wrong and I find each suggestion more confusing than the last.

I turned caching back on when I signed off.

These are the standard troubleshooting steps to try next:

Deactivating all plugins to see if any are causing that to happen.
Reset the plugins folder in case any are not fully deactivating.

With no plugins active switch to the default theme.

Leave caching off for now – you don’t need it at all.

Now I’m also wondering if it’s just that your page is not in the menu – have you put it there per:

As it turns out, I found a way to include it on “customize” and then discovered it was a problem with FoxFire because I could view it with Internet Explorer but not FoxFire.

Thanks so much for your help…I appreciate you walking me through it!
