Hi,
I’m new to wordpress and configured the settings. Unfortunatelly I can’t login through the link which was sent me to my Email when I installed wordpress.

In detail:
I changed the wordpress link (for my domain) in the settings in wordpress backend. After I didn’t like the change, I typed in the original link which was given me by wordpress. Now I get error messages from my host (404 – File not found) and I am not able to login to my wordpress site anymore…

Did you change the URL settings? If so, you can change them back via one of these methods:

Hi Phil,

Welcome to the world of WordPress. It sounds like you have changed your WordPress address setting (on the Settings->General screen) and, as you have found, this can cause a bit of trouble.

The most direct way to fix this issue is to change these values in the database (using phpMyAdmin) but this page discusses several other options as well.

Good luck and make sure you have a backup of everything before you start.
