i know pretty stoopid. i printed the page and then misplaced it. so is there a way of retrieving these 2 pieces?

nope. drop the tables and reinstall wordpress. there is actually a way to hack the databases and find it, but I have no idea where the article is

wouldnt be necessary to drop anything, just select md5 in phpmyadmin next to the password field, and write a new password there – and update the table!
