Showing Trackback URIs

Trackback works fine when I put someone else’s Trackback URI into the correct space when I post. But I can’t figure out how to allow others to track back to my posts. Here’s the code behind my “Trackback URI” link:
” rel=”trackback”><?php _e(‘TrackBack URI’); ?>
But if you click on that link in my blog (www.weshouldlive.com/blog/), then you just get a circular redirection link, and a 500 Internal Server Error.
Is there something fundamental I’m missing here about trackback URIs, or does that code just need a little tweaking?
