cannot post using email

Hi,
I have gone through all the suggestions in the forums and still cannot get my system to post by email. I set up a prefix, put in the right options, corrected scripts according the forum and it still doesn’t work…although I suspect that there is something wrong with the wp-mail.php script…I got an syntax error just trying to it launch it…not someting you normally do – granted – but when all else fails sometimes leads you to the problem. Anyway, this is what I saw:
