• I am using the itheme2 from themify for our community webpage and can’t figure out why the background image won’t change. Right now, it’s the default dark purple like color. See http://www.eadscolorado.org
    I would like to change this. I went to the itheme2 tab on the left, went to settings, then styling, then background image and it says I can upload an image. It then puts in URL in the box right above the upload button and when done uploading and saving these new settings, the background image doesn’t change when I visit the site. It looks like it should be really easy to change from the default to an image since one of the settings is specifically for background image. I even copied the background image I want into the “images” folder where that default purple bg picture is located . Would appreciate any help. A few tutorials said something about some CSS wording/coding but it doesn’t seem like it should be that hard. Thanks!

  • Your support for itheme2 from themify is with the theme dev.’s. This forum cannot support commercial themes as we do have access to them.

    That said, after a change as noted above, ensure to clear both server and local browser cache.

    I tried themify support and because I used one of their free themes, I am not allowed to get support from them, unfortunately.

    I”m unsure of what you mean by clearing both server and local browser cache, although I believe I know how to do the later.

    I am guessing there is somebody that knows how to successfully change a theme’s background image on WordPress. Thank you for replying and if you can make anymore suggestions, I’d greatly appreciate it!

    These forums only support themes from this site — so mostly, it’s unlikely anyone here will know how that theme is set up for the background image.
    That said, it looks like the background image may have a bad file name that cannot be read:

    background-image: url(http://eadscolorado.org/wp-content/themes/itheme2/uploads/bg/DSCN0419-(2).jpg);

    As you mentioned trying the theme provided option for background and it did not work, I suggest trying a theme that works with the installed version of WordPress.
