How properly call word-count script?

    I have a form where user can submit an article.
    I need to display word count while user is typing (some jquery or similar script).

    I see that the code is somehow referencing some script (word-count), but it doesn’t work (nothing happends, no results).

    Which is the right way to use this script?

    P.S. I am very new to wordpress, however, I new php, jquery etc. related staff. Please, give me some clues how existing scripts should be loaded.
