Tag and category pages problems….

Hi,
i’m building a travel guide website with wordpress.
If i create category and tag pages with a seo title, seo description, and a 300 words page description (and then of course all the introductions of the post on the category or tag), there are big differencies (in SEO view for Google) witha a static wordpress page?

for Example there are big SEO differences between

http://www.younewyork.it/attrazioni-nyc/ (STATIC PAGE)

http://www.younewyork.it/attrazioni/ (CATEGORY)

For site structure is better the 2nd cos i will have

http://www.younewyork.it/attrazioni/statue-of-liberty/

If i’ll use the 1st, i think i will set rel=canonical in the 2nd.
