• please help! I run a giveaway blog. My script keeps stripping out of my RAFFLECOPTER code.

I am having a heck of time getting my RC code to “Stick” to my giveaway posts. I will copy the code via the copy button provided on the rafflecopter page, I paste it into the post in HTML writer of my wordpress blog, it will appear there and be great. Once I publish it I only get the text link that says a Rafflecopter Giveaway. I don’t get the form to appear. When I go back to check on the code, the cloudfront part is missing. I don’t make any changes, do you have any suggestions?

Here is the sample code that I paste originally:
    a Rafflecopter giveaway
    <script src=”//d12vno17mo87cx.cloudfront.net/embed/rafl/cptr.js”></script>

After my post goes live and the RC form doesn’t appear just the link here is what my code looks like:
    a Rafflecopter giveaway

I don’y make ANY changes to it, but I can’t use RC on my blog if people can’t enter. My entries and my stats are way down….I’d love ANY suggestion you could give! I just started this WP blog on 12/24 and was fine with my blogspot blog before that. I’ve asked all my wordpress friends and they all have the same problem…I can’t stand it…I’ve got to get it fixed!!

Thanks WPyogi for showing me how to start a new thread, I looked forever trying to figure out how (I am quite the novice, can you tell?)

  • The same thing is happening to me with my LinkShare code.

I figured out that even after I click Update, if I switch from Text/HTML view to Visual view, that’s when the code simply disappears.

Thank you Kelly, Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to work for me, No matter what I do it disappears. 🙁

Adding a js file link directly into your post is not the proper method.
Yes WP strips that type of code from post content by default.
You might want to try a plugin specifically designed to add javascript to your post, superslider-perpost-code may work for you, designed to add js code, but not for linking js files. To link js files to your post search for a plugin just for that.

Thank you @davi Mowbray, I am going to give that a try right now! I need something to make it work~I don’t want to have to switch back to my blogspot blog!

That is just very strange because I am having conflicting results. I have five blogs all on one WP installation (3.3.1). Two blogs have the same theme and all have the same plugins enabled (network enabled). One blog shows the Rafflecopter, Giveaway Tools and PunchTab giveaways fine (although it does take a few tries of pasting and saving to get it to work right). The other blog, whether or not I switch from Visual to HTML and back or not, strips out the javascript. It just, and I mean JUST, started happening. I had a GT form on a post a few weeks ago and had no problems. This week I opened a new one in a different post on the same blog and it will not work at all. I save, view -> form is there -> refresh (btw, editor pg is closed at this point) -> FORM IS GONE!!! What the heck. It doesn’t make any sense to me. I’ve disabled all new plugins I’ve added and nothing seems to work for this blog. Yet it’s only happening on ONE of the FIVE in the same network installation. I don’t get it.
