Backup structure questions

    Hi Guys

      Backing up my WordPress on my site

    I want to backup the website to my computer so that:

      I can restore on the same or a different site.

      I would value recommendations for the name of a couple of backup program’s that people like to save the site onto a computer. I am at present using wWndows but it may be a mac soon and ideally any program would work on either.

      Finally, does my sites SQL database I use with WordPress just contain cross relational references or does it actually keep data such as audio, pics and comments?

      How can I see this?

      Can I view an exported SQL in excel

    ?

    Second question first – your database contains ALL of your content so it is imperative that you make regular database backups. Personally. I use http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/dbc-backup/ which can make regular, unattended, db backups.

    Other than that. all you need to do is make backup copies of your wp-content folder as this contains all of your themes. plugins and attachment/images uploads. If you are looking for a paid services
