Problem resizing video

Hey

I have the Platus theme and having some struggles when posting video links. I have tried various different plugins but everything seems to be the same.

When I put a video link (embed, iframe, link via jetpack) the video is always 100% width and the height it always locked to a set amount, it makes no difference when I change the width and height in the post. This is an issue because most videos are not square like they used to be they are widescreen so it looks wrong.

I have tried putting it in <div> tags but that just makes the container smaller but the video stays the same size in the middle so it just crops/covers up some of the video.

I have put it to the twenty twelve theme and it works ok so it must be the theme. Also turned plugins on and off but that makes no difference.

There are also other css files in a folder called ‘css’ not sure if these are used? aimate, foundation and ie

I have tried providing as much details as possible as I know it must be frustrating it could be.

The site is currently offline but if you need to see examples or even admin access would be super helpful.
