transferring wordpress to local machine

my sister just bought this site that uses wordpress.

i am new to wordpress.

i do have experience with html, css, javascript and php.

i think this theme uses MINGLE.

i don’t have a permanent internet connection, so i would like to put it on my wampserver, but i have trouble with it when i do.

currently none of the graphics are showing up on the local machine.

not sure if it needs a permanent internet or not.

looking for any good recommendation of tutorials or books about wordpress.
