WPMU privacy plugin

    Hi,

    I would like to ask if there are plugins which can do the following:
    – users are registered per sub-blog (They have access only the blog they are registered for, not the whole network)
    – all sub-blogs pages/blog posts are visible to everybody on internet but you can make specific posts/pages visible only to sub-blog users not whole network.

    I found something on the net but is not working 🙁
    PS: I want to make blogs for our school where students will register per blog and they will have access to main wpmu page and their sub-blog. However they will be able to see some posts from other blogs.

    PSS: Or is there some other alternative?

    That’s actually how it works, in a weird way.

    Users are added to the network, but they only have ‘subscriber’ (ie. read and comment) access to sub-blogs.

    If you want more privacy, you’d need to include a membership plugin and configure it per site.

    Hi Mike,

    so I used yours Join My Multisite and WordPress Access Control(WPAC) and I got that working somehow, but there is still issue. Users of other sub-blog from wpmu are able to see the post title and Search Excerpt (Posts) from WordPress Access Control. The plugin doesn’t hide the post completely.

    Is this because this has something to do with the access rules from wpmu?

    Is the WPAC misbehaving and showing the post title because it thinks the person from other blog is a member to? Is there a way to fix this?

    You look like you have enough knowledge in this field, is this something what can be fixed?

    I don’t know if http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-access-control/ is meant to work with Multisite, but I’ll tag this for that dev

    Do you who has enough knowledge to fix it (make it work the correct way in WPMU as well?WPMU expert other then author, because he doesn’t seem to respond on my emails)?
