Archive Frequency

This is probably very obvious—but I am new to wordpress.

You know how on your wordpress site you have a box listing archives?

It says, for example, in list form: October 2001, November 2001, December 2001…

The archive frequency is clearly monthly—how can one change the frequency (e.g. to make it weekly)
