Login password vs password in sql tables

    Hi – I’m paranoid after a series of hacks on a site I maintain [I’ve concluded it’s the webhost it’s on – no one in the list recommended by WordPress! That’s another story…]

    Anyway, my own site is happy and healthy but I was doing some password updating like a good boy and noticed the password I login with on wp-admin is different to the one in the wp_users table in the sql database. Is that usual? Do I need to be more paranoid?

    It is truth that, the ‘recommended’ hosts are not that great.
    Yes, for its the webhost that can be responsible for hacking.

    Anyway, my own site is happy and healthy but I was doing some password updating like a good boy and noticed the password I login with on wp-admin is different to the one..

    Use two factor authentication like Google for extra security. There is plugin for that. You can enforce .htaccess password too.

    Yes, its normal. It is ‘converted’ to protect from getting hacked, in case someone can access the database.
