Question regarding WP and Customization

    Hi Everyone,

    I’m new to WP and I’m fairly decent at php/sql. My question is this, can you customize WP to your websites own specifications?

    For example, let’s say I have a database full of vehicle inventory and I want to use that vehicle inventory and display it on my WP website. Does WP make it easy to do things like that? Can I import a database full of states/cities and zip codes and use that information to make smart URLS? (just an example).

    In other words, can I use WP as a template and tweak/change/edit/customize my website anyway I want using WP? and if I do this, will I still have the ability to download the latest version of WP and be able to download plugins I like? Basically getting all of the benefits of WP along side with my own unique customization? Is this all possible with WP?

    What are some limitations with WP?

    Yes.

    can I use WP as a template and tweak/change/edit/customize my website anyway I want using WP?

    Yes.

    You’ll have to learn the templating/functions system, but the codex covers that.
