Login Frustration – please help?

    Our designer in Thailand set up our account & blog for us, it looks fabulous but we need to take over the admin. It was all done in our name but we cannot login from here.

    We could login the first time we received the login details from wordpress but not since!

    We run IE 6
    Windows Firewall is off
    Norton Security Centre – firewall is off & http://wordpress.com/wp-login.php and http://wordpress.org have been added to be allowed in the privacy areas which are also low
    IE – as above, http://wordpress.com/wp-login.php and http://wordpress.org have been added to be allowed in the privacy areas which are also low

    I have rebooted, changed password, double checked cap locks, spelling etc and still all I get is Error: Password is incorrect.

    Our designer can get in in Thailand but not me 🙁
    Any suggestions?

    PS I searched for previous blogs but gave up after an hour 🙂

    Sorry… forgot to mention that we have a Belkin Router with a firewall turned on

    I can’t see how to add individual browser permissions but our designer doesn’t think this should be causing the problem.

    If this is a wordpress.com site you’re talking about, rather than a site on your own domain, you need the wordpress.com forums:

    http://wordpress.com/forums/

    There is also unofficial support on a yahoogroup:

    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/wordpressdotcom/

    Norton Security Center: try disabling its “privacy” or whatever it calls it settings.

    Thanks Les, I disabled privacy in Norton but it still doesn’t work – thanks for the suggestion though.

    I am trying to log into http://wordpress.com/wp-login.php and I have wordpress set up on my URL at http://www.strategyconsultinglimited.co.uk/businessadvice/ but so far I cannot change or add anything as I cannot get into it.

    Our designer can and he changed the password to see if that would help but it didn’t. I had to register a new account to get to this support and that worked fine but as I didn’t set this up I’m not sure if the process is completely different.

    I am getting desperate for a solution so if anyone can help please make any suggestions 🙂

    I will try the other routes you mention too.

    Th problem here was that my designer gave me the wrong URL to login…. I had a wordpress login screen with the URL he gave me so I didn’t know it was incorrect.
