Are you sure that’s not just your current theme’s default sidebar content? Try adding an empty Text widget to the sidebar. If it removes all of the other “widgets”, then this was default sidebar content.
How do I add an empty Text Widget to the sidebar please ?
Just drop a Text widget into the sidebar via Appearance -> Widgets,
Yes, but I’m afraid to this beacuse I will an additional unwanted widget if I do so, this is how I got into the current problem I am in – I want to rid of the Bogroll, Categories & Meta Archieve.
Ok, I put in another a widget and it hasn’t appeared yet.
Are you sure you added a Text Widget? I have re-examined your theme’s sidebar and can find no evidence of a Text widget – empty or otherwise. If you are sure, then you need to contact the theme’s developer as we do not support commercial themes here.
Yes, I added the contact info widget.
No – I suggested an empty Text widget.
Esmi,
First, thanks for your help so far. I put an empty text widget in my sidebar and the two widgets (archives, meta) that I could not delete were removed. However, there is an empty gray rectangle that appears in the right sidebar now. Does this mean that the two widgets from before are default ones? Is there anyway to get the empty text rectangle to disappear?
Thank you for your help. I am new to WordPress. This is my first attempt at a website…
