Plugin not activating

I’ve installed the Google XML Sitemap plugin and activated it, but although it showing as activated, it isn’t showing up in the Settings menu like it’s supposed to and hence I can’t use it.

I’ve tried clearing my cache but that didn’t help. Does anyone know why a plugin wouldn’t be properly activating like this and what to do about it.
