• I’ve been here several times and I can’t find anything to address this. I apologize if I didn’t drill down enough into the installation files.
My host (Hosting Matters) has kindly provided .072 for installation through Fantastico — but I want 1.0 (at least) so that I can import my MT files and utilize the comment moderation without having to install hack scripts.
At any rate, after several tries (using the helpful tips from the 1.0 upgrade guide), I am getting the following error:
Warning: main(/home/margilow/public_html/wp/b2-include/wp-db.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/margilow/public_html/wp/wp-config.php on line 49
Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required ‘/home/margilow/public_html/wp/b2-include/wp-db.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/margilow/public_html/wp/wp-config.php on line 49
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Mkay. I fixed the config file — there was some stuff left in there from the .072 installation.
I pointed my browser to the upgrade.php and got this error (which, incidentally is the same error, different line, if I use the install.php):
Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/margilow/public_html/wp/wp-admin/upgrade-functions.php on line 57
I’m sure this is all incredibly stupid sounding. I obviously know nothing about all this. Sorry to be such a PITA.

You really should replace the old config file with the new one from 1.0 (you really really should try 1.01 RC1 from http://wordpress.org/development/archives/2004/1/15/101-release-candidate/ ) All you have to make sure is that your config values are the same as your old config file. I would suggest removing all the files from the old 0.72 installation and putting the new ones in there (unless you have an old blog in there which has a lot of extra images or files) A lot of installation issues much like yours are caused by missing files. Also, the RC1 has a lot of bugfixes for reported installation errors.
