layers is an option to add multiple markers to a map. you can also create so-called multi-layer-maps which combine markers from different layers.
ad user adding markers: this feature is planned for a future release.

sorry, but cant give you an exact timeframe for now. I am currently working hard on a pro version which will be available within q1/2013. One of the first features will be adding markers by users via frontend.
