WP Newbie – multiple questions

I am working on my first Wp site using a Pagelines theme. If I can, I’d like to know how I can be rid of the “pages” in the footer. I’ve also posted this question in the PageLines forum.

Also, what are the standard plugins I should look to download. So far, I’ve downloaded the contact form by BestWedSoft and the RushSEO plugin. Were those the right choices? What else should I download.
