Advanced post options refuse to show.

I’ve been trying to set up future posts, but for some reason the advanced options refuse to show. I’ve checked several dozen times to see that the Options -> Writing panel says that advanced options are turned on, which they are. Any ideas?

Also, is there a way to get edits to show up immediately instead of making the post disappear and force me to republish?
