Help would be appreciated

So basically im trying to expand wordpress beyond its native structure ive been working on the same website for over a year now with very little progress so its kinda frustrating,

i recently took to working with the ultimatum theme which is great, ive been abe to give my website the look i wanted, but their is still many things im stuck with

i have buddypress installed and as it does not use different pages for every element i.e groups and group, members and profile it makes basic styling harder, and more advanced styling i.e wires what buddypress element goes where is still a non starter for me,

i would also like an image gallery and video gallery on my website, ( thats easy enough? nope guess again ) i want it so the video and images are collected from all members of my site, so each user can upload stuff like this onto their own profiles so it shows under a tab with a default privacy setting of public, then i would like it so that all personal uploads from members are shown on main gallery pages for all visitors to see

i have set up custom post types so i have not only blog posts but also video posts and reviews, i would also like to link them to buddypress profiles,

my websites a online magazine/ membership site with forums, im currently looking at adding a wiki on the side which should be easy enough and later on wpecommerce plugin so i know this is a big strech as wp is after all designed to be a simple blog platform

any thoughts or advice would be awesome
