Creating my webpage

A while back I created a webpage/blog (joeyhead.com) which I soon scrapped due to my frustions with the limitations from the wordpress.com blog. I wanted to freedom to more theme options ability to change fonts etc.

I went a little ahead of myself and bought a theme from themetrust.com then soon figured out I needed a host site so I went to hostgator.com and signed up. Now I figured out that I can’t use custom themes on wordpress.com and I need to download wordpress from wordpress.org and use that instead.

So this is where I’m at still clueless but making some headway toward making my webpage!

My QUESTION is, what do I need to do to create my webpage? What Programs(I have dreamweaver)? How do I get it online once I do? I’m totally confused as to what I need to do now.

I know these questions probably require long answers, so if anyone knows a link to a someone who has already asked this or a webpage that will help me out that would be greatly appreciated!!!
