[Plugin: WP-TopBar] Social Buttons wont enable

the rest of top bar works as expected… but when I click enable on the facebook and twitter icons and save the changes, they uncheck themselves.

the links for FB and twitter pages entered into the fields are saved, but the check box wont stay checked upon saving.

any ideas?
