I think that doesn’t have anything to do with the plugin. You will have to change some lines of code in your theme.
Or change completely to another one.

btw: it doesn’t insert the more tag (set after 4th sentence)

It’s a default behaviour of your theme. The thumbnail is created when uploading the image. You can later attach it to a post. It is displayed with the function the_post_thumbnail();
Iguess there must be some setting in your theme, whether or not you display it in the post.

No, the more tag is something that people use according to their taste. It was never the intention to automate that as well.

Ready! The developer version has the possibility to fix the ‘more’ tag as well. Just will take time to release the next official version.
Official version is there and you can fix ‘more’ tags, thumbs and excerpts for one site or for a whole network.
