• Today I switched to a new host (Bluehost) and got my site transferred and up and running, used the same theme (Greyzed) I had on wordpress.com, everything worked great, but now there are a whole bunch of things in it I don’t want there and can’t get rid of them.

    Unwanted on page:

    Sample Page (top header)

    Search This Site (sidebar)
    Popular Tags (sidebar)
    Post Archives (sidebar)

    Social Connections (bottom)
    Blog Roll (bottom)
    Recent Comments (bottom)

How do I get rid of these!!!

The blog I need help with is: http://www.refrainmusic.com.

  • Go into the “Pages” tab in your Admin panel and delete the Sample Page.

The rest are widgets in your footer and side bar just drag them to the inactive area or delete them. See below for more reference.

    That’s the problem…

I already deleted the “Sample Page” and it’s still showing up?

I have ‘no’ active widgets on the page and they are still showing up?

    Help!

PS> And now my wordpress stats have stopped working too!

The theme has not been updated in over 2 years so I would suggest you try using a theme that is properly supported. New versions of WordPress have been released since the theme was last updated and there may be incompatibilities.

The widgets are loading because you have nothing in the sidebar. They are loaded by the theme as default widgets. So add the widgets you want and the rest should go away.

I’m not sure why you are still having problems with the sample page in the menu. It looks to me like the theme is using wp_list_pages()to display the menu.

What did you do to delete the sample page?
