    I am a new to WP and have added WP SEO.

    Yoast WordPress SEO: Titles & Metas

    Do I need to fill in the site name and description here between the %

    Title template:
    %%sitename%% – %%sitedesc%%

    No, you don’t need to touch those.

    Those bits are like place-holders, so when the system sees ‘%%sitename%%’ it will replace that with your websites name. The same for %%sitedesc%%. The Yoast plugin has it’s format of %%variablename%% and it will replace that with whatever that value is.

    Should I do force rewrites titles and add meta keyword templates on home page?
