    Good day people

I’ve just moved from a Windows host to a Linux host, using the same domain name. If I load a month old backup of the site it works but the more recent backups aren’t. Have a look here to see what I mean: kempstongroup.co.za
It’s almost like it’s not reading the CSS of the theme.

    Any suggestions welcome.

    Many thanks

    Rob

  • I’m not seeing any missing css. There are multiple javascript errors and with some coming from a file, jquery.cssAnimate.mini.js, which looks like is being used to control multiple display options.

Also your theme ( themeforest theme ) is using outdated version of jquery which is also showing errors.

I would contact the themes support at theme forest. Hopefully they will be able to help you.

I’ve managed to get the landing page working but now I’m getting a 404 error when I try and browse to any of the pages.

This site was working almost perfectly on the Windows host, I moved to Linux because there was some extra functionality that I needed that wasn’t available on the Windows host.

Okay, it looks like I’m back up and running. I went to Permalinks and without changing anything, I saved the settings and that seems to have done the trick.

Looks much better now. Glad you were able to get it resolved.

Okay, I managed to break it again! Figured out the problem though. I had edited a file (screen.php) in cPanel. After making the change the site broke, not because of the change but rather (I think) because of the character set. cPanel defaults to utf-8 character encoding. I ended up editing the file in Notepad ++ and then uploading it to the server. Now it’s working perfectly again!

    Thanks for all your attention.

    Rob
