Can't upload

I can’t upload images first it was the genesis framework I had to have there support team ftp the framework, I thought it was a problem with theirs but now I realize it may be a problem with uploading. I have tried to upload a header and a background picture and I select the file and press upload but nothing happens I don’t get an error or anything. the same thing happened with trying to upload genesis it just didn’t do anything. help….
