Hi,
at the moment the only chance you have, is editing all the old posts and save them. The plugin will automatically create the excerpt and attach the thumbnail then.
I have thought however about a function to create excerpts for all old posts without excerpt. But it will take a while until I’ll have time to programm again.

well, I’m talking about roughly 20.000 posts, can’t do it automatically can I.

No, not yet. But wait for an update. I’m sure, I can build something.
The release of Automated Editing 1.4 comes soon. There will be the possibility to leave through old posts and fix excerpts and thumbnails seperately.
The posts that are not fixable for some reason will be saved in a list for review.
You can download the developer version already if wanting to.

an official update will still take some time. Sorry for the inconvenience. But I am working on the feature of putting the read more links as well as that seemed a good idea to me.
I will post in the support forum when the dev version is able to do that.

Well, read more links are missing still as that actually should happen somewhere in the loop and not be part of the excerpt itself. You should be able to change that in the settings of WP or your theme.
