• Hey All,

I have a WordPress Site that utilizes 3 Web Servers, 1 NFS Data Share Server, & 1 MySQL Server. I am having a Problem that will Suddenly Cause All 3 Web Servers & the Data Server to Spin up to 100%; at with point Apache has Stopped Hosting and the NFS servers drops to 0% since there are now no requests coming in. I have Monit on all 3 web systems set to restart apache if there are too many zombies/children/CPU usage/Memory usage.

I had 2 servers and add the 3rd thinking it was just the demand but it’ still happening. MySQL hovers around 20% and is hosting other sites as well. I can find any similarities an the 3 systems logs that would indicate what is happening. I could only suspect maybe a plugin, but we really can’t just turn them all off. Any Thoughts or at least thoughts of a way to help trace down the exact problem?

    Thanks

  • It is hard to say, honestly. I would look (if you haven’t already) in Apache’s access log for a lot of queries from the same IP to wp-login.php or other key files. I saw this myself not too long ago.
