Log-in Site dissappeared
-
Hi there,
I tried logging in to my website today (http://humanitcafe.com) only to discover that my log-in info no longer works. Also, the website altogether has vanished and has reverted to what it used to look like two years ago before I updated it.
Does anyone have any idea on how I can fix this issue? I would really appreciate the help.
Thank you.

First thing, you need to gain access to your website. To me, the quickest method is if you have access to MySQL. Then, you can simply open the “users” table and change your password, and obtain Login username.
Some references that you can use:
— http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_PasswordAfter you gain login access; you can then move forward with diagnosing the rest.
HI there,
Thanks for the response. That info doesn’t really help me though. The issue is that I can’t even log in or reset my password because they e-mail I used for that website has been erased along with my website.
Any other suggestions?
And yes, I already erase the cookies and cache.
I’ve tried it on other computers too and same problem.
If there is an “older” version, that means there is still a WordPress installation. Therefore, by accessing through MySQL and the “users” table, you can change the user login info and credentials so that you can login to the WordPress Dashboard and investigate your problem further.
Paste [ REDACTED ] as the password in the field for the user’s password. So that when you login, you can use [ REDACTED ] as the password.
WAIT.
@idesigndmedia, While I may applaud your desire to help, please do NOT do that again.
Honestly. The userid can be discovered without much problem and had Humanitea done that, you’d have just given the Internet that password.
@humanitea, please read the link that idesigndmedia provided you.
http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password
Personally, I am fond of this method.
http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password#Through_FTP
If you do not have access to your host’s file system, then please contact your host provider for assistance.
Make a backup of your theme’s
functions.phpfile, it should be at/home/content/61/8227361/html/wp-content/themes/01.exquisite-wp/exquisite-wp/functions.phpand then add this line to it.wp_set_password('your-new-password',1);And try to log in after that. If that works, put back that backup copy of your
functions.phpfile.I might have assumed too much that the concept of using “changeURpass” would refer to actually changing your password when they successfully logged in. The Password would not have worked until they changed it anyway through phpMyAdmin; and upon logging in, it could have been changed.
Nevertheless, I could have been clearer than how I wrote it. My apologies, and I do hope Humanitea, that you do resolve the issue successfully.
Thanks guys,
But actually I did try all those things and the problem is different than the one you think. I tried changing password the FTP; but the issue here is not one of a lost password.
My username doesn’t exist anymore; neither does my website. This is not a hosting issue, it’s an issue with wordpress as my hosting is still running fine. WordPress has seemingly deleted my account and website?
My website has now reverted to an old one that I set up years ago.
The way I understood this part of your paragraph:
Also, the website altogether has vanished and has reverted to what it used to look like two years ago before I updated it.
I perceived the revert was to an “older” WordPress website. That is why I was referring to locating/changing the information that I suggested.
If there is not a WordPress database, nor do you locate the files in the file manager. You might as well speak with your hosting company and see if they have a backup of your account that could potential restore to the latest copy they may have with WordPress on it.
When you guys to the website; which one do you see? The newer one (the one it should be) has a flash slideshow with Gelato and coffee; while the older one is a simple wordpress template.
Because apparently it’s working on some computers but not all. Please let me know.
Thanks!
“Twenty Eleven” theme shows active at this time.
Keep in mind, Flash is not fully compatible with all browsers. Could be a reasoning for why your Flash Slideshow is not showing. (iPad, iPhone, etc.)
Good luck on your website.
But the thing is I’ve use this laptop for a while now and it has always worked before.
And now, the new website shows up on some computers; and the old one shows up on others.
Do you know how I can fix it so that the new one shows up on all computers?
Thanks,
Does anyone have any bad experiences with Auttomatic?
They seem to be the hosting account that automatically hosts your wordpress account. I’ve tried contacting them several times and they haven’t got back to me.
They are literally impossible to get a hold of.
Unless you are using WordPress.com your site is not hosted by Automattic. It looks like your site is hosted at GoDaddy
Sorry I meant my domain. Yes my site is hosted with Godaddy but the domain is with Automatic. Does anyone have experience with them? I can’t fix my site until I switch the domain away from them but they won’t get back to me to unlock it.
