Although I was able to install WordPress in a subdomain
http://technologyquery.tk/wordpress or http://technologyquery.tk/blog, I was not able to install it in the root domain http://technologyquery.tk/. I am using 000webhost. From CPanel>Files>File Manager. After logging in, I went to public_html folder, deleted default.php, selected upload, under archive, I browsed for the wordpress file [wordpress-3.4.1.zip] and clicked Ok. After upload finish I could find my site on http://technologyquery.tk/wordpress. To avoid this, I extracted wordpress folder from the archive and zipped its content in a separate archive. But during upload I got some errors. Also I tried to move the contents from uploaded wordpress folder to root folder with another set of errors. So, what to do in such scenario. I don’t want my blog listed in another page.

    What errors did you get?

There is another way to move WordPress to root domain. But, for you are trying to achieve, it can be done easily, if you can move the files to the root folder.

I have not worked with the interface from 000webhost, BTW.

Hello, finally I was able to do that by using FileZilla as a desktop FTP software. Thanks for your help.

Glad to know you fixed it using an alternative method and thanks for sharing how you fixed it. Please consider marking this topic as resolved, when you get a chance!
