It can be related to plugins, the theme, old version of WordPress, etc. Everything is outdated. Your site loads very slow too.

    Why don’t you update everything?

It is a custom theme with plugins that might not be compatible with Ver 3.4.1.

It was fine when we had it on our development server, but when we took it live this happened. Could it be htaccess issue?

    Thanks

When I took the site live the site now asks the user to log in to view a post.

Which post? I do not find any such problem.
    Do you have login problems?
Which are the plugins that you use?

If you click through to the link i have provided and then click on a product (built as a post) it asks for a login

No. I do not find it. Clear your browser cache and see for yourself.

And click on the product image

Should permissions be set to 777 instead of 755

Yes, product images do ask for login. Do you want the visitors to login to your dashboard? Why did you set it that way?

That is the problem. Nothing is set for users to log in to view. I think it is either a permissions or htaccess file issue. Or maybe in the config file

No, it cannot be so. Let me try to find out.

The images are linked correctly. I do not find any links that takes clicks to the /login.php.
    You may try this:
    1. Deactivate all plugins
    2. Rename the themes by adding -old
    3. Activate Twenty Eleven and see if the problem persists.

To see if any plugin is causing the problem, activate and deactivate the plugins one by one so that you can identify if any plugins are causing the problems.

Thank you. I will post back when I have fixed the problem.
