Displaying Posts on Custom Designed HTML Static Page

Hi,

I have been trying to find a way of using wordpress as a CMS for my custom pages i have designed. I have a news page which requires a post system which can be written from wordpress itself (after logging in).

I have created a design in html which hosts the date, author, title and content (including a read more caption), however, i am unsure as to how i can host my static pages on wordpress and code my pages so that i can use wordpress to write posts and show up on my static page. Any ideas, would be helpful.

Btw i am a beginner when it comes to wordpress and PHP all sites i have made are predominantly HTML and CSS, so if you could tell me a step by step process i would be very grateful.
