Okay, this might be a frequently asked question, but unfortunately I am a really bad researcher and haven’t been able to find an answer thus far.

I am a newbie to PHP, and I’ve noticed that there are two comment templates, Comments and Popup Comments. I’m assuming the latter is for an actual popup window in which comments can be made, but I have absolutely no idea how to activate it.

If anyone is able to help me, please note that I’m using the latest version of WordPress (I did find one instance in which this question was asked but it was a different version and was therefore irrelevant) and also that you have to explain it as you would a child as I am very new to all things involving Web Design, and even the internet for a large part =P

    Thanks! Gwyn XOXO

  • Have you read the comments_popup_link and comments_popup_script documentation? I think that should explain what you need. If not, post your follow-up question(s) here!

Yeah, I found them earlier, and I tried both of them out, although I wasn’t entirely sure where in the script I was supposed to put them, and now I have them both written in, but it doesn’t change it to popup, it stays the way it was before, where it opens the other template down the bottom of the page.

Hmmm… nobody wants to recognize it, but it has never been normally documented 🙁
even being a veteran Codex reader – I could hardly find the info on a “deprecated” well-hidden page: http://codex.wordpress.org/Answers-Configuration.
(you have to open the header.php of your theme and either uncomment or add the one-line code.
