menu categories and image upload

I am attempting to work with a new theme called sliding door.
I have the theme itself uploaded and it works very basically except I can’t expand the menu categories to 7(only have 4 now) and have not been able to load any images to the header.

Please tell me how to increase the no. of categories and what I can do about getting the images in place.
