Try validating your site — errors often cause browser inconsistencies.
If you need further help (after doing the above), post a link to your site — so someone can actually see what is going on.
Thanks. Stupid of me not to give you my blog URL. Here it is: The Thrawn Rickle
I will validate the site and return here thereafter.
I went to the validation link you suggested, and entered my URL. I received a list of errors, but I really do not understand how to go about correcting these errors. I am very new to WP, and just got my blog up and running. Formerly, it was operating on Quickblogcast from Godaddy.
I am fairly good at creating pages in HTML, and I have reviewed and understand the significant differences between XHTML and HTML. My problem is that I don’t know where to go within WP to make the validation corrections. Once I am on the correct page with the editable code available, I can find and make the corrections.
Can you either explain briefly how to access the appropriate code pages, or direct me to an appropriate set of instructions that will explain this step to me?
Thank you very much for your help, and for putting up with a duffer like me!
For those of you possibly following this discussion, I discovered a universal solution to my problem. Someone on this forum suggested to a person who was experiencing an IE problem to install a new theme, but before doing that, he suggested that she first deactivate all plugins.
I had not done that. I went to my blog and deactivated all plugins. The IE problem went away. I then reactivated each successively, until I found the one that was causing the problem: Easy Adsense. I tried several other Adsense plugins until I found one that accomplished what I wanted, AND did not crash IE. I chose Adsense Extreme.
Now it’s working just fine: The Thrawn Rickle. Come on over and enjoy!
