• I’m using PageLines Theme and got this error today:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING in /home/content/61/8804061/html/wp-content/themes/platform/sections/section.breadcrumb.php on line 48

How do I fix it so my blog will be up and running instead of everyone getting this error?

I can’t even get to my Dashboard. It just brings up the error. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Try switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

Are you using the free or pro version of Pagelines?

The free version. I can’t get to my Dashboard at all. When I go to theimperfecthousewife.com/wp-admin, it just gives me the error. :/

Did you try my suggestion above? You don’t need to login to your site to do this.

I’m not very computer savvy, so forgive me if I sound totally ignorant. Would I go through Go Daddy (my domain/host site) to do that?

Ok, I found where the section is for the “Breadcrumbs” where the error is…. Here is what the code looks like… what do am I missing to make it work?

If you don’t have FTP software yourself, then yes. I’m pretty sure that GoDaddy have a file management application that you can access via your hosting account panel. If you get stuck trying to find or use it, ask GoDaddy for help.

Thank you! I found the FTP. I also have a back up from a few weeks ago with PageLines. I’m downloading it now in hopes that I can get the right coding for the breadcrumbs and just edit it in the FTP. 🙂

Do let us know how you get on.

Well, I thought I had a recent Backup (which I didn’t) but didn’t realize it didn’t have the theme I am using until after downloading it. I ended up searching for the code for Breadcrumbs and landed on this:

    http://paste.pagelines.com/12

I followed the link of the error in my FTP files and copied and pasted that code into it. Voila! It’s fixed! Thank you for your help!
