• I have the code for a counter. The instructions say to use a tab in dashboard/presentation which doesn’t exist.
In flock I can’t edit the source code of index.php.
In IE I can edit the source but not save it.
I have found no instructions for how to log on to my site; if I could do that I could download/edit/upload changes.
    Help, please.

  • If you are using wordpress.com, then you wont be able to install plugins. They are the ones hosting the WordPress site and database.

But the reason I signed up for the counter was because I saw it working on another wordpress.com blog site! Unfortunately I can’t find it in my history, otherwise I’d contact the author and ask how he did it.
The instructions (on the sitemeter site) looked so straightforward.

Some blogs on wordpress.com are more equal than others and this might be such a case.

I did manage to contact the author and he confirmed I can’t install plugins to a WordPress blog if it’s hosted by WordPress. i.e. I don’t have aditing access to the hosted files directly.
    Oh well.
