Email Notification to 1000 subscribers?

    Newbie here, so please excuse the foot in my mouth!
    We have a site http://www.guildinvestments.com that uses the great subscribe2 plugin. However, emails were not going out to our subscribers. It’s come to my attention that our hosting co. limits our emails to 500 per hour. Obviously I’m green!
    I imagine this is the reason the plugin has not sent out the past 2 times.
    Does anyone have any advice as to some other plugin or hack?
    At this point we’d like to stay away from phplist so everything is integrated with the wp db.

    No matter what you do, if you send it through your hosting company, then it will be limited. The reason they do that is because of Spammers. That, and email can clog up the “pipe” with that much going out at once. Either find a totally different way to send email through another server… or

    Break up the email list into 2 or 3 emailing lists of about 490 each

    Email them at different times an hour and say 15 minutes apart

    That I do not know.. I have never used it 🙁

    Thanks anyhow! Have you used phplist? or any other email program for large volums?

    Nope.. when I do mass mailings, I do not do it from the website itself.. I have my own lists I have created on different email programs. I prefer my bandwidth be used from my own isp where I send it from instead of the website I use (unless of course I host it from the same place.. but then again, I prefer to have it from the email client so I have records and sent copies and more control over the email itself.) But.. that is just me. 🙂
